Several years ago on my first visit to India, I met Dipa while staying with her family at a tea garden during Bihu. She was so gracious and friendly and immediately dressed me in traditional apparel and taught me the Bihu dance while she sang a traditional song.
Normally a quiet personality, she came to life while singing and dancing totally enjoying her music. You could also tell that she loved and enjoyed her brothers as she talked non stop. I guess catching up for the time one was away. She was so enthusiastic while conversing with her brothers. Dipa also enjoyed cooking Assamese dishes for all of us to eat.
I look forward to her album release so I can hear her collection of songs and the memories they will evoke.
