From Rashmi Bora Das(USA)
My acquaintance with Deepa Baidew was through the numerous stories I heard about her from her brother Jayanta Da and the casual conversations I had with her over the phone. We had talked about everything under the sun from food and festivals to weather and melodies. Musically gifted herself, she had sent me a collection of old Assamese songs that I will always treasure.
I never met her in person, yet I felt I knew her so well. She was a joyful human being who strived to make everyone happy. The love and warmth that flowed from her whenever we talked always touched my heart.
She was the affectionate elder sister, a wonderful person I wish I had met before she left us all forever. We miss you dearly Deepa Baidew. Rest in peace, and continue smiling at us from Heaven!
