About Dipshikha


Dipshikha was born in Sivasagar. She was the daughter of late Gauri Prasad Sharma.

Dipshikha Sharma ( Dipa ) came to our family as a twilight of dawn as her name signifies. She enlightened everyone with her melodious voice, sense of humour and a caring heart for everyone.

Dipshikha was fond of music, played with music, and spent her short span of life with music. In fact, she had an inborn capabilities of music for which probably she was blessed by God to compose songs at the tender age of ten years. She took formal training of music under late Peter Singh, P. Borthakur, H. Dutta Baruah ,S. Das, P.C. Roy and many others.

She was a Visharad degree holder in Vocal from Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya., Lucknow. More attuned to folk based music ,Dipshikha composed many songs based on folk music. She could render Bongeet melodiously and tried to pick up Karbi and Bodo tunes when she studied at Diphu and Kokrajhar during her school days .She was best singer, best debater, best actor in her college days.

Dipshikha scored as music composer in several musical broadcast from AIR Dibrugarh besides being a regular performer in AIR Dibrugarh and DD Dibrugarh .Apart from singing, Dipshikha was a good dancer and stage actor. She had a soft heart specially for the underprivileged section of the society and as such she preferred lyrics that speaks about the underprivileged; like KETIA PUWABO RATI[when the dawn will come? SOMAJORE MAJ MOJIAT SIALORE GAT[Oh; herds of jackals in our society],KOTHARE BHULUA DIN JE BANDHU AJI JE UKOLI GOL[Your sweet words can no more lure us]. Her previous albums are Tomar Chayate, Unmona, Tihiti Lo Lo, Borhomthuri etc.
